We are happy to welcome two very talented women to our gallery for the first ever co-artist exhibition.
Kate Cargile is a middle school art teacher who is currently pursuing a
Masters degree in American and New England Studies with a concentration in
Museums and Public Culture. Both of these aspects of her life shape and
inspire her artwork. Kate works in a variety of diverse media, including oil
and encaustic painting, appliqué quilting, printmaking, and paper mache
sculpture.
Kay McKeever Allison is in her 26th year of teaching art in the Lewiston
School system, presently at Lewiston Middle School. She began taking classes
at the Maine Art Glass Studio in Lisbon and learned the art of fusing glass.
The process of fusing glass to create the Maine landscape is her latest
passion. She loves the technique of cutting, layering, and melting the glass
to create a finished work. She often works from photos of places she has
been, memory, and imagination.
On display July and August 2007
